Ich erinnere mich, dass ich \u00fcber eine Teppichrolle trat und hinfiel, weil mein Bein nachgab. Ich ging mit einem ungew\u00f6hnlichen Gang. Und ich war nicht in der Lage, mich auch nur einmal aufzusetzen, ohne mich an den Beinen hochzuziehen.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Haben Sie andere Familienmitglieder, die LGMD haben? <\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Nein, ich bin der einzige in meiner Familie mit LGMD.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Was sind f\u00fcr Sie die gr\u00f6\u00dften Herausforderungen im Leben mit LGMD?<\/strong>:<\/p>\n<p>Die Treppe ist im Moment definitiv meine gr\u00f6\u00dfte Herausforderung.  In der Tat ist jede Stufe mit einer Setzstufe h\u00f6her als 3\u2033 entweder extrem schwierig oder ein No-Go. Anfangs kompensierte ich meine Beinschw\u00e4che, indem ich mich mit den Armen am Gel\u00e4nder abst\u00fctzte, um eine Treppe hochzukommen, aber in den letzten Jahren hat meine Armkraft nachgelassen.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Was ist Ihre gr\u00f6\u00dfte Errungenschaft?<\/strong>:<\/p>\n<p>Ich habe viele kleine Triumphe errungen. Einer davon war, dass ich \u00fcber die Brooklyn Bridge in New York City laufen konnte. Meine gr\u00f6\u00dfte Errungenschaft ist jedoch, dass ich meine Erkrankung (LGMD) akzeptiert und angenommen habe. Dadurch haben sich mir so viele weitere T\u00fcren und M\u00f6glichkeiten in meinem Leben ge\u00f6ffnet. Ich habe gelernt, dass meine Erkrankung mich nicht als Person definiert.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Wie hat LGMD Sie zu der Person gemacht, die Sie heute sind? <\/strong><\/p>\n<p>LGMD hat mich viele Dinge in meinem Leben gelehrt, aber das Wichtigste ist wohl die Geduld. Ich war schon immer ein geduldiger Mensch, aber ich habe gelernt, dass mir die Dinge nicht nach meinem Zeitplan passieren, sondern dann, wenn ich bereit daf\u00fcr bin.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Was m\u00f6chten Sie der Welt \u00fcber LGMD mitteilen?<\/strong>:<\/p>\n<ol>\n<li>Die Gliederg\u00fcrtel-Muskeldystrophie ist kein Kleidungsst\u00fcck.<\/li>\n<li>Dass LGMD einfach ein Test ist, wir alle machen im Leben irgendeine Art von Test durch, meiner ist LGMD. Es ist eine Frage der \"Wahl\", wie ich darauf reagiere und was ich dagegen tun werde. Ich habe nicht das Recht, weniger zu tun als jeder andere.
