\u00c0 quel \u00e2ge avez-vous \u00e9t\u00e9 diagnostiqu\u00e9 ?<\/strong>:<\/p>\n

J'ai \u00e9t\u00e9 diagnostiqu\u00e9 \u00e0 l'\u00e2ge de 23 ans, juste apr\u00e8s avoir termin\u00e9 mon cours de plong\u00e9e de sauvetage.<\/p>\n

Quels ont \u00e9t\u00e9 vos premiers sympt\u00f4mes ?<\/strong>:<\/p>\n

J'ai un mode de vie tr\u00e8s actif, qui fait monter l'adr\u00e9naline, et apr\u00e8s avoir remarqu\u00e9 que je courais de moins en moins vite chaque jour, j'ai commenc\u00e9 \u00e0 m'entra\u00eener de plus en plus dur. Mais en fin de compte, mon corps s'affaiblissait de plus en plus. Apr\u00e8s avoir termin\u00e9 ma plong\u00e9e, j'ai d\u00e9cid\u00e9 de me faire aider.<\/p>\n

Avez-vous d'autres membres de votre famille atteints de LGMD ?<\/strong><\/p>\n

Non, je suis la seule et ma famille a \u00e9t\u00e9 tr\u00e8s touch\u00e9e lorsqu'elle a appris mon diagnostic. Cela ne m'a pas vraiment affect\u00e9. Je l'ai juste vu comme un nouveau d\u00e9fi. Mais au bout d'un moment, la r\u00e9alit\u00e9 s'est vraiment impos\u00e9e... si vous voyez ce que je veux dire.<\/p>\n

Quels sont, selon vous, les plus grands d\u00e9fis \u00e0 relever pour vivre avec le LGMD ?<\/strong>:<\/p>\n

Acceptation. Le fait que je ne puisse plus pratiquer toutes les activit\u00e9s que j'avais l'habitude de faire est un v\u00e9ritable d\u00e9fi. Il m'a \u00e9t\u00e9 difficile d'abandonner le parachutisme, le rafting en eaux vives et le tout-terrain parce que cela sollicitait trop mes bras et mes jambes.<\/p>\n

Quelle est votre plus grande r\u00e9ussite ?<\/strong>:<\/p>\n

Vivre la vie dont r\u00eavent la plupart des gens et \u00eatre une source d'inspiration pour tous ceux qui m'entourent. Quand on a le bon \u00e9tat d'esprit et une forte volont\u00e9, il n'y a rien que l'on ne puisse accomplir.<\/p>\n

Il y a une histoire qui m'inspire \u00e0 vivre une vie bien remplie. Publius Horatius Cocles \u00e9tait un officier de l'arm\u00e9e de l'ancienne R\u00e9publique romaine qui a d\u00e9fendu le Pons Sublicius pendant la guerre entre Rome et Clusium. Le po\u00e8me se lit comme suit : Alors parla le brave Horatius, le capitaine de la porte : \"\u00c0 tout homme sur cette terre. La mort vient t\u00f4t ou tard. Et comment l'homme peut-il mourir mieux qu'en affrontant des obstacles redoutables ?\"<\/p>\n

Comment le LGMD vous a-t-il influenc\u00e9 pour que vous deveniez la personne que vous \u00eates aujourd'hui ?<\/strong><\/p>\n

J'ai toujours cru que j'\u00e9tais incassable. Depuis mon diagnostic, je me suis rendu compte que rien ne peut m'arr\u00eater. Il n'y a que la vie et la mort, et en choisissant la vie, mes r\u00eaves ne sont plus qu'\u00e0 un souffle. Et j'ai l'intention de combler ce foss\u00e9.<\/p>\n

Que voulez-vous que le monde sache sur le LGMD ?<\/strong>:<\/p>\n

Ne m\u00e9prisez jamais les personnes qui souffrent d'une maladie, quelle qu'elle soit. L'\u00e9tat d'esprit n\u00e9cessaire pour vivre avec un tel obstacle et le surmonter pourrait bien \u00eatre trop difficile \u00e0 supporter.<\/p>\n

Si votre LGMD pouvait \u00eatre \"gu\u00e9rie\" demain, quelle serait la premi\u00e8re chose que vous souhaiteriez faire ?<\/strong>:<\/p>\n

Je commencerais \u00e0 courir et ne m'arr\u00eaterais jamais jusqu'\u00e0 ce que mes jambes se brisent parce que pour le moment... je serais libre !<\/p>\n
